Walkers Rock Beach
A remote, sweeping surf beach north of Elliston with a low-key bush campground and great fishing.
Room to breathe
North of Elliston, Walkers Rock is the kind of west-coast beach that rewards the drive — a long, open arc of sand and surf with a simple bush campground tucked behind the dunes, far from crowds.
Surf fishers come for the salmon and mullet that run the gutters, and the basic camping makes it a favourite for travellers who want to fall asleep to the sound of the swell. There are no shops or services, so you bring what you need, but that is exactly the point.
It is one of the string of unhurried beaches between Elliston and the towns to the north that define the slow, self-sufficient pleasure of the Eyre Peninsula coast.
