Why this guide exists

How we choose places

We list places that meet three tests:

• It's open and accessible to the public. Appointment-only venues count; places with no public access do not.
• It has something distinctive worth a visitor's time. Character and a real reason to go beat a generic listing every time.
• It can be researched against multiple sources. Every listing is cross-referenced against the operator's own site plus an independent source where possible.

We do not accept payment to be listed. Featured placements are editorial decisions, not commercial ones.

About the data
