The Granites

A photogenic beach south of Streaky Bay where huge rounded granite boulders sit on white sand beside a popular surf break.

Named for the giant rounded granite boulders scattered across its white sand, The Granites is one of the signature beaches of the Streaky Bay coast. The boulders make for striking photographs, especially at sunrise, while the beach break draws surfers and the sheltered corners suit families.

It sits on the Westall Way Loop and is an easy, sealed-access detour from the Flinders Highway — a rare combination of accessible and spectacular on this remote stretch of coast.
