Yangie Bay

A tranquil, sheltered bay and campground at the gateway to Coffin Bay National Park, ringed by mangroves and birdlife.

Yangie Bay sits just inside Coffin Bay National Park, a calm sheet of water that could not feel more different from the surf coast a few kilometres south. This is the protected, dreamy side of the park: still water, low scrub, and a campground that makes a fine base for exploring further in.

Short walking trails leave from here, including the climb to Yangie Lookout for a wide view over the bay's tidal flats, and longer routes toward Long Beach and Black Springs. Birdwatchers do well around the mangrove edges, and the sheltered water suits kayaking when the wind is kind.

The campground has basic facilities, and a park pass is required. It is an easy first stop after the township, and a good place to slow down before tackling the park's rougher tracks.
