Acraman Creek Conservation Park
A remote coastal park of mangroves, samphire flats and tidal creeks west of Ceduna, rich in birdlife.
The far west wetland
West of Ceduna, where the Eyre Peninsula begins to blur into the long emptiness of the Nullarbor coast, Acraman Creek Conservation Park protects a maze of mangroves, samphire flats and tidal creeks.
It is quiet, remote country — a haven for shorebirds and seabirds, and a productive spot for anglers who work the creeks for whiting and bream. Paddlers can explore the channels at high tide, drifting between the mangroves in near silence.
There are few facilities and little signage; this is a place for self-sufficient travellers who appreciate big, empty landscapes and the subtle richness of a coastal wetland at the edge of the settled country.
