Speeds Point

A sheltered point and tidal flat on the Streaky Bay foreshore, good for calm-water fishing, wading and watching shorebirds.

Speeds Point reaches into the protected waters of Streaky Bay, where wide tidal flats and seagrass meadows draw wading birds and provide easy, calm-water fishing. At low tide the flats stretch out invitingly, and at high tide the point is a relaxed spot to launch a kayak or cast a line.

It is a quiet, local corner of the bay, away from the main foreshore, and a fine place to watch the light change over the water at the end of the day.
