The Southern Tip Wild-Coast Weekend

A two-day loop through the raw ocean coast south of Port Lincoln.

2 days Surf, cliffs and wilderness 6 stops

Port Lincoln sits snug in a sheltered gulf, but drive twenty minutes south and the land turns to face the open ocean. This weekend strings together the wildest corners of the lower peninsula — towering dunes, powerful surf bays and the spectacular private clifftops of Whalers Way.

The plan

Start in Lincoln National Park, where the Wanna dunes spill down to a raw surf beach and Memory Cove hides behind a locked gate. Loop out to the open ocean at Sleaford and Fishery bays, then book the Whalers Way scenic drive for blowholes and sheer limestone cliffs. Camp or return to town, and spend the second morning among the koalas of Mikkira Station before the easy beaches of Boston Bay.

It is a weekend of contrasts — calm gulf and wild ocean, sheltered bays and exposed headlands — all within easy reach of one town.
