A short coastal drive south of Tumby Bay that strings together sandy beaches, rocky headlands and fishing spots, ending near a quiet bush campsite at Trinity Haven.
South of town
Most people see Tumby Bay's famous main beach and go no further — but turn south out of town along Trinity Haven Scenic Road and a whole second coastline opens up. The drive runs roughly 12 km through coastal scrub and farmland to Trinity Haven, passing a string of small sandy beaches, dunes and low rock headlands along the way.
Stop wherever you like
This is choose-your-own-adventure coast: every side track ends at another quiet beach or rocky point, good for swimming on calm days, beach walking and especially fishing — salmon trout, whiting and squid all come off these rocks and gutters. Pack a rod, a picnic and no particular plan. At the southern end, Trinity Haven itself has a simple bush campsite tucked behind the shore, long used by church camps and travelling fishers.
The full Tumby day
The drive slots neatly into a Tumby Bay day: morning coffee in town, the street-art murals while the light is good, then the slow coastal loop south with a swim along the way. Back in town by late afternoon, the jetty and foreshore put on their nightly sunset show over the bluest water on the east coast.
