Stamford Hill Lookout
A summit walk in Lincoln National Park to a Flinders monument, with 360-degree views over Boston Bay and the islands.
The climb to Stamford Hill is the signature walk of Lincoln National Park. The track rises through coastal mallee to a stone monument commemorating Matthew Flinders, who surveyed these waters in 1802 and named many of the surrounding features.
From the top the reward is a full circle of views: Boston Bay and Port Lincoln to the north, the wild Southern Ocean beaches to the south, and a scatter of islands offshore. It is a moderate uphill walk of around an hour return, steep enough to earn the panorama.
The trailhead sits within the park, which requires a vehicle pass. Carry water, wear sturdy shoes, and go early or late to dodge the heat and catch the best light over the bay.
