The wild coast on Port Lincoln's doorstep
Just a short drive south of town, Lincoln National Park wraps around the southern tip of the peninsula in a tangle of granite headlands, white-sand bays and mallee scrub. Spalding Cove and Fisherman's Point offer safe swimming and easy camping, while a network of four-wheel-drive tracks leads to surf beaches and remote bush campsites.
At its heart is the Memory Cove Wilderness Area, named by Matthew Flinders for the eight crew members lost when their cutter capsized here in 1802. Entry is strictly limited, preserving one of the most pristine pockets of coastline in the state.
