Mount Greenly
A rugged granite peak inland from Coffin Bay, rewarding a steep scramble with sweeping coastal views.
A granite landmark
Mount Greenly rises in a bold dome of weathered granite from the farmland between Coffin Bay and the coast, one of the tallest points on the lower peninsula and a landmark for sailors and farmers alike.
Reaching the summit is a genuine off-track scramble over boulders and through scrub rather than a formal walking trail, and it suits confident, well-prepared walkers. The reward is an enormous panorama — the patchwork of paddocks below, the dunes and bays of the coast, and on a clear day the islands strung out offshore.
Go with good footwear, plenty of water and an eye on the weather, and treat it as the adventurous outing it is.
